Rivers of Nepal



Nepal is very rich in water resources. Nepal is second richest country in the world. Ther are many rivers in Nepal. There are more than 4000 rivers flowing this small country. Mechi, Kankai, Koshi, Narayani, Karnali, Gandaki, Bagmati, Rapti, Seti, Mahakali, Bheri, tamor, Tama koshi, Bhote koshi, Likhu,Arun, Trisuli, Dhud Koshi, Sun koshi, Indrawati, Marsyangdi,  Madi,  Daroudi,etc. are the river with high potentiality  of electricity. Nepal has the capacity of producing 83,000 MW of electricity which is sufficient to provide the electricity for whole southest country. Among all the rivers of Nepal. Karnali is the longest river  which has the potentiality of producing 32,000 MW of electricity. Koshi is the biggest river having its electricity potentiality 22,000 MW. Koshi is also known as the Sorrow of Bihar. Gandaki has the capacity of producing 21,000 MW of electricity. Narayani is the deepest river of the Nepal.
